Research-and-production company «Contact»

Research-and-production company «Contact» was founded in 1988 by the employees of the Institute of automation and electrometry of Siberian branch of AS in USSR. The activity was directed towards scientific and technical developments in the sphere of digital devices and systems. During the first years of work several orders of institutes and design offices were performed.

After a time Contact has organized short–run output of products that have firm demand. In particular, drivers’ controllers on Winchester and floppy disks for DCS were delivered for the organization in Novosibirsk, also in Khabarovsk, Tomsk, for Sverdlov machine-tool plant in Leningrad, and were built in the industrial control systems.

Later on, while IBM-compatible computers were spreading, RPC «Contact» has developed several kinds of storage modules and organized its production. These modules were delivered in Novosibirsk, Barnaul, Vologda, and Moscow.

All products were supplied with necessary software and service maintenance. When needed, specialists have driven out in other cities for equipment setting, launching, and servicing. This experience was used in future service organization and projects realization that concern network construction and equipment delivery.
