Institute of Chromatography «EcoNova» Ltd. was organized in 1991. Today more than thirty people work in the Institute. Main specialists have 20-25 years of experience.

Till 1990 developments were made within the Siberian branch of Academy of Science of USSR (Novosibirsk Institute of Organic Chemistry, Institute of Nuclear Physics, Novosibirsk Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry, Institute of Limnology). In view of almost complete suspension of governmental financing Institute of Chromatography «EcoNova» was organized by the specialists and developers with the agreement of the SB RAS leadership. During the whole period of existence EcoNova has been working only with self-owned means. The collective has managed to keep its uniqueness.

EcoNova cooperates actively with such organizations of the SB of RAS as Institute of Limnology, Institute of Chemical Biology and Fundamental Medicine, Institute of Chemical Kinetics and Burning, Institute of Analytical Instrument-Making of RAS in Saint-Petersburg. There are joint developments with the SB of RAS, MIA, FSS.

High-performance liquid chromatographs produced by EcoNova are highly appreciated by the users and specialists. During the warranty period the after-sales service is free and made in the customer’s laboratory. Special trainings are done in Novosibisrsk state university, Irkutsk state university, the Institute of limnology of the SB of RAS (Irkutsk), Sechenov Academy of Medicine (Moscow), Pharmacology research institute of Tomsk scientific center of the SB of RAMS.

A training unit «Chromatography» was founded within Novosibirsk state university, the equipment was given by EcoNova. The unit should provide the institutes of the SB of RAS, other establishments of RAS, analytical laboratories of different departments with high-qualified analysts.

HISTORY

In 1969 a group of young scientists and engineers of Novosibirsk Institute of organic chemistry of the SB of Science Academy in USSR under the direction of Sandakhichiev L.S. described chromatograph procedures in micro-columns (40-100 microliter) and an «ultraviolet microdensitometer» construction as a detector (Kuzmin S.V. and others. Biochemistry, 1996, v.34, p. 706). The day of this publication could be considered as the day of the first print mention of a new analysis technique – Micro-column liquid chromatography.

Chromatographs «Milihrom» and «Milihrom-1» and their modifications have been produced from 1982 till 1989. The detector optic block construction had three inventors certificates and patents, electronics also had three inventors certificates of the USSR. Altogether about 3000 chromatographs were produced.

In 1985 the group of scientists and engineers was given the State pursue of the USSR in the field of science and technique – «For creation of a micro-column liquid chromatograph method, development and production organization of micro-column liquid chromatographs «Ob’-4» («Milihrom»)».

High-performance liquid chromatograph «Milihrom A-02»

Application

  • Quality and safety control foodstuff, strong and soft drinks, drinking water, household chemical goods, perfumery.
  • Pollution character identification in the places of man-caused catastrophes.
  • Medicine analysis, identification of amino acids, steroid hormones, lipids etc.
  • Harmful substances identification (aromatic hydrocarbons, phenols, pesticides, organic dyes, ions heavy, alkali and alkali-earth metals) in liquid drains, air exhausts and solid  wastes, and in living organisms.
  • Control of organic synthesis processes, oil-refining and gas-transferring, biochemical and microbiological industries.
  • Soil quality evaluation for fertilizer application, pesticides and herbicides identification in soil, water, and production.

Technical characteristics

  • Dimension - 535х210х320 mm.
  • Weight (without a computer) - 17 kg.
  • Power consumption - 130 Watt.
  • Computer control.

«Milihrom A-02» is completely automated.

It could work round-the-clock.

Advantages

  • There is no  need in a special adjustment after bringing to the place of the analysis.
  • Weight is about 17 kg, safe, shakeproof, easy to transport.
  • It consumes extremely little of pure chemical dissolvent.
  • Liable interpretation of the received results.
  • High level of automation.
