“Korn” Co Ltd.

“Korn” Co Ltd. is a production of the facing brick with glaze coating and also of studio pottery.

The company has existed for 15 years and is one of the leading producers of studio pottery in Russia. It is the laureate of contents “The 100 best goods in Russia” in 2004 and in 2006. Production of facing bricks has existed for 2 years. The production capacity is 150 000 pcs. a month.

About the output:

The facing brick with glaze coating functions as both the structural wall element and the finishing agent. The outside face and specification of a glaze coating are identical to the coat of studio pottery. This brick may be used for facades facing of buildings, front access doors, basements, balconies and loggias and also for interior finish of premises: front doors facing of buildings, brickwork of decorative insets, partitions, fireplaces and stoves. Using the contrast associate colors and also the perfect combination of glazed bricks and facing bricks gives us a limitless number of architectural decisions.

The professional match of glazes and the thermal treatment of the brick at 950 Celsius degree in the tunnel oven (by our own design) provide the best quality of the finished product. The wide color gamma, the high coverage and adhesion rate put our brick on a level with German and English analogs for better price. Frost resistance of our brick is 50 cycles.

• Strength characteristics. The glazed brick has M150 that makes it not only decorative but also a high-quality laying material.
• Extra work is not needed as it is for ventilated facades installation. A wall is laid with glazed bricks during building construction.

The brick made by this technology has the low cost price at the expense of essential economy of power inputs in production. Besides, using industrial wastes for production promotes improvement of ecological conditions in a region. Consumer qualities of the brick are at the level of the best and expensive samples made by classical technology.
• The production technology of gravel and crushed rock made of ash-ablations of thermal power station. Among advantages of the technology – the low cost price, lack of firing, low apparent density, high durability. As well as the previous technology the given one enables to use ash wastes and thereby to affect ecological conditions positively.

Torgovij Dom “Korn” Co Ltd. is the company specializing on KORN output trade and also other producers of building materials and studio pottery.

The information about the most significant adopted technologies:

• Adaptation of the base production technology of slag cement to raw materials from the consumer and adoption at the enterprise: Limited Partnership “Karaganda asbestos-cement products factory”, Republic of Kazakhstan (with slags of “Arselor Mittal Temirtay” plant)
• Adaptation of the unfired cementness production technology of the brick made of ashes of heat station to raw materials from the consumer and adoption at the enterprise: “Siberia effective brick” Co Ltd., Omsk, Russia (with ashes of heat stations in Omsk), “RATM” group, Russia (with ashes of Rubcovo heat station)
• The production technology of the facing brick with glaze coating: “Korn” Co Ltd. (own production)

While solving problems in the production technology of building materials made of industrial wastes the complication consists in that industrial wastes differ from conventional mineral raw materials in its aggregative state, chemical and mineralogical composition. It is necessary to apply unconventional methods.
