Scientific and manufacturing company New Diamonds of Siberia, Ltd.   was established in 2003.     The company’s main activities are focused on: researching natural diamond properties and developing enhancement techniques for natural diamonds; developing techniques for growing large single crystal HPHT synthetic diamonds with a required set of impurity and intrinsic defects; developing new methods of thermochemical cleaning of diamond surface and refinement of diamond-containing concentrates; diamond cutting; making exclusive jewelry with unique natural color-enhanced diamonds.

The company has developed and patented the technique of changing the color of natural brown diamonds to red and pink (Russian Federation Patent #2237113 «The technique of production of fancy red diamonds», priority date 06/26/2003).

The commercial production of red and pink color-enhanced natural diamonds, known at the world market under the trade name «Imperial Red Diamonds», was started by New Diamonds of Siberia in 2004.

Besides red and pink color-enhanced diamonds, the company produces yellow-green, colorless and light pink color-enhanced diamonds using the «classical» HPHT treatment.

Marketing research for color-enhanced diamonds is carried out together with the company’s American partner, Lucent Diamonds, Inc (Lakewood, CO).

In 2004, New Diamonds of Siberia developed and patented a new method of thermochemical cleaning of natural diamonds (Russian Federation Patent No. 2285070, «Diamond Cleaning Technology»). 

This method allows almost complete removal of bituminous and iron-containing contaminants from open fractures in natural diamonds. The company is currently co-operating with Alrosa Company Ltd. to develop new methods of refinement of diamond-containing concentrates and to deal with other important issues of diamond mining and separation.

The company is arranging to start producing synthetic single crystal diamonds in high-pressure BARS apparatuses. The growth technique will allow the company to produce perfect single crystals over 10 carats in size with a required set of impurity and intrinsic defects. Such diamonds can be used in modern microelectronics, scientific instrument-making, and single-chip diamond instrument.

The Company’s head office and jewelry manufacturing facilities are located in Krasnoyarsk. All research and manufacturing facilities are located in Novosibirsk Academgorodok.

The company has two branches: NDS-Barnaul, Ltd, which is a diamond cutting company, and Chigreen Diamond Home, Ltd, which is a company situated in Moscow that produces and sells exclusive jewelry with fancy colored diamonds.
