The history of the company:

The SIMEX company started in 1989  when the workers from the Institute of Semiconductor Physics SB RAS organized a scientific production cooperative for mathematical simulation, developments and devices production.

The Fourier spectrometer patent was received in 1993. In that year the experts-criminalists from the police department were interested in the development at the exhibition “Science-93” and with their active interest and the consultation support six infrared Fourier spectrometers “Orion” were developed and produced.

The licensing of the patent was sold to the Russian company “Lumaks” in 1996. The first batch of Fourier spectrometers “Infralum FT-801” was developed in Novosibirsk and it was set by the criminalists from the police department and by the Department of Justice. In 2001-2008 these Fourier spectrometers were produced by the same team and were supplied in the name of the company “Lumaks-Siberia” which was founded at the instance of the licensee and existed till the end of the license in 2008.

The SIMEX company developed and supplied accessories and attachments for the IR Fourier spectrometers “Infralum FT-801”.

Production:

IR microscope “MIKRAN”:

In 2004 the Russian Centre of Legal Expertise under the Department of Justice RF set a task before the SIMEX company to develop the first domestic infrared microscope which could operate with the IR Fourier spectrometer to get IR spectrums of microobjects with linear dimension from 20 micrometer and in thickness – from 20 nanometer.

The work has been done by the instrumentality of Bortnik’s fond under the program “START” for a year. The IR microscope went through the approbation and the cross-validation testing with imported analogues in the Centre of Legal Expertise and the Experts-Criminalistic Centre of the police department in RF, and it was recommended for an application in the expert subdivisions of the law machinery. The experts who had great experience in working with the Fourier spectrometers and imported IR microscopes took part in the approbation of the complex. The test has shown that the domestic spectral complex isn’t inferior to imported analogues at all points identifying the quality of obtained spectrums and costs three times less.

The IR microscope was named “MIKRAN”. It has been supplied to 20 Russian organizations for three years. The IR microscopes “MIKRAN-2” with advanced facilities have been supplied by orders of the police departments and the Department of Justice since 2009.

IR Fourier spectrometers “FT-801”:

The modernized Fourier spectrometer with digital electronics, USB-interface, new program, with faster response and facilities of quick connection to IR microscope named IR Fourier spectrometer “FT-801”.

It is produced under Trade Certification 4434–801–59962935–08, it has Certificate RU.C.31.007.A № 33974 about pattern approval of gauges (Registration in the public register of gauges under № 39532-08, the producer – the Scientific production company “SIMEX”.

The Fourier spectrometer “FT-801” is competitive by its features and abilities at the world market. It costs 2-3 times cheaper subject to integration.

Different attachments and devices as a unit:

·         Kit for microtablets pressing with microfocusing attachment

·         Devices for mirror and diffusive reflection with overhead and lower layout of the sample

·         Devices for single and multiple frustrated total internal reflection with ZnSe prism with the compression unit for research of liquid, slurred, solid and loose matters

·         Fluid and single- and multi-pass gas cuvettes, sample holders, removable ports

·         Universal device for single frustrated total internal reflection and single and multiple frustrated total internal reflection for measurement by frustrated total internal reflection method with microobject visualization on the monitor, and  by mirror and diffusive reflection method with angle of 45 degrees by overhead layout of the sample

·         Focusing device with adjustable stage and horizontal installation of the under test samples. It is meant to register transmission spectrums of small free-form objects  (diameter of diaphragms-bushes 1, 2 and 3 mm) and pressings with KBr, liquid and slurred samples on ports-substratums.

The company’s production is awarded with the great gold medal of the Moscow International Innovation and Investment Salon, with the medals and diplomas of Russian and international exhibitions.

In 2008 the company’s young scientists received rewards from the administration of the Novosibirsk Region for their achievements in the applied scientific research.

In 2009 the SIMEX company won the Regional competition “Gold Mercury” nomination “The Best Small Innovative Enterprise in the Novosibirsk Region”

The scientific production company “SIMEX” is a member of the Association “SibAcademInnovation” of small and medium high-tech enterprises in Novosibirsk and runs in close collaboration with the Institute of Semiconductor Physics SB RAS and the other Institutes RAS.
